Sok Xing & Hwang (SXH) has launched its Four Rivers initiative, a new contemporary art exhibition and event space at the leading Cambodian law firm's Koh Pich offices on the banks of the Tonle Bassac river.
The opening on March 27 saw the launch of a unique new addition to the Phnom Penh contemporary art scene.
"SXH is proud to host Four Rivers as part of our commitment to the promotion and appreciation of quality Cambodian contemporary art, and to provide a new exhibition and event space for local artists," said Sok Lor, managing director of Sok Xing & Hwang.
Four Rivers showcases some of the best of Cambodian contemporary art and artists, and will bring their work to a broader local and international network of potential buyers and collectors.
The opening exhibition displays 32 works by 13 established and emerging artists, across painting, drawing, photography and installation. The rolling exhibition will be refreshed as artworks are sold.
Xing Jiajia, SXH senior director – and the driver behind Four Rivers – spoke of the initiative's strong reception.
"We have been delighted by the very enthusiastic response from our artists and their appreciation of this opportunity to show their work to a broader network of potential buyers, and to participate in future contemporary art events," she said.
