On November 3, 2018, Kent Ridge International School celebrated the opening of a new academic year, awarded certificates of excellence and medals to outstanding students from 2017-2018 at Dyvith hotel where parents, guardians and their children and all teachers and staff gathered proudly in this ceremony.
Scholarships and bursaries worth $300,000 were awarded to 30 students for this coming academic year. Pengty Ngor, KIS’s director, said that in any educational system, the quality of education cannot exceed the quality of teachers. KIS will always be committed to making sure that teachers’ qualifications and their school system are second to none in Cambodia, he said.
The school also took this opportunity to offer certificates of appreciation to 16 students, 26 students and 25 students who have successfully passed the 2018 Japanese Suken Maths Contest, 2018 SASMO and Scholar’s cup respectively. 4 KIS students have been awarded silver and brown medals in 2018 IMSO in China. Sec 3 student was also awarded 2018 ASEAN Scholarship by Singapore government to study in Singapore.
