Khmer Enterprise (KE) on December 20 unveiled the winning teams and companies across three categories – the High School Awards, Startup Awards and SME Awards – at the Khmer Enterprise Awards Night 2023.
Presided over by HE Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise, the award ceremony celebrated 11 outstanding winners out of 403 applicants, marking yet another significant milestone for Cambodia's entrepreneurial culture.
“As a catalyst to building Cambodia's entrepreneurial landscape, Khmer Enterprise has implemented diverse programmes benefiting students, startups and SMEs,” said HE Hem Vanndy.
"Over the past three years, KE has played a crucial role by identifying gaps, fostering trust among stakeholders, co-creating programs with partners and enhancing co-financing mechanisms.
“As we celebrate the 11 winners today, I encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace high standards, cutting-edge technology and efficiency to contribute to the flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystem of our nation.”
HE Dr Chhieng Vanmunin, the CEO of Khmer Enterprise hailed the flagship programme's furthering of entrepreneurship in the Kingdom.
"After years of implementing this flagship programme, Khmer Enterprise has observed that it has contributed greatly to the promotion of entrepreneurship in Cambodia," said HE Dr Chhieng Vanmunin.
"The programme has built a more interconnected and strong entrepreneurial ecosystem by creating a vibrant environment for entrepreneurs to learn, pilot their businesses, explore investment opportunities and expand their operations.”
The Khmer Enterprise Awards Competition, now in its third year, involves a number of rigorous stages, including screening, business presentations, mentoring and final pitches.
The 11 winners across the three categories were:
SME Awards:
Krousa Lotcha Nomkouchhay: First Winner – 28,000,000 riel ($7,000);
Svay Angkor Enterprise: Second Winner – 24,000,000 riel ($6,000);
Much Mobile Healthcare Co, Ltd: Third Winner – 20,000,000 riel ($5,000);
Dam Dous Alvin: Fourth Winner – 16,000,000 riel ($4,000).
Startup Awards:
Organic Sheep Farm: First Winner – 20,000,000 riel (5,000);
Wonderpass Technology Company Limited: Second Winner –16,000,000 riel (4,000);
Jobify (Cambodia) Co, Ltd: Third Winner –12,000,000 riel ($3,000);
Sabara Best Food Co, Ltd: Fourth Winner – 8,000,000 riel ($2,000).
High School Awards:
Kon-Nichiwa: First Winner – 8,000,000 riel ($2,000);
The 3R-Youths: Second Winner – 6,000,000 riel ($1,500);
Bubblegum: Third Winner – 4,000,000 riel ($1,000).
The Khmer Enterprise Awards Competition aligns with the organisation's vision of being a national platform, providing opportunities for networking, cash prizes, mentoring sessions, national and international competitions, and other support programmes to foster growth and success among Cambodian entrepreneurs.
