On August 24, emart24 Inc announced the establishment of a strategic alliance for expansion into Cambodia and the opening of its convenience stores.
A subsidiary of Shinsegae Group, a leader in the history of retail and distribution in South Korea, emart24 began operations in 2013, going on to open more than 6,000 convenience stores since then.
The major Korean brand started overseas expansion in 2021 with the opening of the first emart24 store in Malaysia, followed shortly by one in Singapore in 2022.
It attracts customers with its spacious and airy store design – and by providing the best in value and service – and with its innovative efforts to make ordinary daily life more delightful and enjoyable.
With Cambodians increasingly having busy urban lifestyles, the current trend in the Kingdom is for a growing number of convenience stores.
Recognising the opportunity, emart24 has teamed up with a strong local business partner to enter the Cambodian market with its first flagship convenience store – due to open in the first half of 2024 through a master franchise agreement.
And leveraging on its roots, the brand plans to stand out from the incumbent competition by offering Korean street food, a fresh coffee station, exclusive Korean snacks from its own private labels and a range of K-Beauty products.
