The premiere of the Angkor International Festival of the Arts in Siem Reap City was extremely well received. One of the major sponsors of the free three-day event, Angkor beer, a Cambrew Ltd brand, was delighted at the turn out and said audiences were wowed throughout December 10-12.
“After the year we have all experienced, festival goers were happy to be out and about and embraced the diversity of events and activities across the three days. There was a buzz in the air as everyone celebrated coming together and what makes Cambodian arts and culture so unique and wonderful,” said Cambrew brand manager Channarath Soum.
Opening up Cambodian culture, arts and heritage to the rest of the world, the free event showcased a star-studded line up of talent across the full spectrum of arts. Visitors saw exhibitions, live street art painting, shadow puppetry, circus, artists talks, bokator demonstrations, essay and poetry recital, dance performances, pop-up book stores and book launches, kite flying workshops and much more.
The opening ceremony was live streamed directly from Angkor Wat promenade so people from all over the world could tune into the launch of this momentous event.
“We would like to congratulate the event organisers, Cambodian Arts and Festival Enterprise Co in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Arts of the government of Cambodia, and all the participants for making the festival so successful in promoting Khmer culture here and across the globe. We would proudly sponsor this event again in the future,” said Channarath.
