Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh and Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap – two of Cambodia's most prestigious luxury hotels – marked the start of the festive season with their annual Christmas tree-lighting events. 

Guests witnessed the dazzling illumination of the Nordmann fir trees, imported from Norway, in the stunning gardens of the historic hotels on November 30, 2023.

They were also treated to a musical feast as choirs, musicians and school children performed Christmas songs and sang carols to spread joy and cheer among young and old alike.

The hotels have been decorated with dazzling light displays, wreaths and other festive ornamentation to celebrate the holiday season.

And there is also the opportunity to support a good cause by purchasing cookies and gingerbread made by the Raffles Hotel pastry chef or the Christmas ornaments on display, with the proceeds going to Sunrise Cambodia.

Guests can donate the confectionery and festive ornaments to the children of Sunrise, or take them home to share with their own families. 

Donations can also be made to Sunrise Cambodia, a non-profit organisation helping disadvantaged children and communities in the Kingdom, with a wish then written and hung on the sparkling Christmas trees, which came from the scenic snowy landscapes of Scandinavia.

The Christmas tree-lighting events were filled with laughter and happiness as the guests enjoyed drinks, finger food and beautiful Christmas performances as they immersed themselves in the grandeur of the Raffles Cambodia festive tradition.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor will host a grand circus-themed gala dinner and dance, with a lavish buffet, live performances and fireworks.

Both hotels will also offer various festive activities and promotions throughout December, such as afternoon tea, gingerbread-making classes, a circus fancy dress party, movie nights, spa treatments and special stay packages.
