Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh and Tribe Art Cambodia jointly invited UK artist Carne Griffiths for the first St George’s Day Ball. Held in the Regency Ballroom, guests enjoyed a four-course meal with drinks, and watched a live painting of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II by Griffiths, while a charity fundraising art auction was also held. An art exhibition commemorating Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, is being held from April 24-May 15 in Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh’s social space. Proceeds from the event will go to the Terry McIlkenny Foundation, which provides visual art scholarships for students attending Phare Ponleu Selpak – the renowned arts school based in Battambang. This was Griffiths’ second successful visit since 2019, when he painted a portrait of Cambodia’s Princess Buppha Devi at Park Hyatt Siem Reap. PHOTOS SUPPLIED
