Woori Bank (Cambodia) Plc and VERYWORDS on February 27 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to install charging stations at the leading financial institution's branches in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
The agreement signed at Woori Bank Cambodia’s head office in Phnom Penh will see greater convenience brought to E-mobility in the Kingdom.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Woori Bank Cambodia CEO Kim Hong Ju and his VERYWORDS counterpart Kim Sung Woo, with senior management and staff of both parties in attendance.
"Woori Bank Cambodia constantly strives to provide financial solutions that meet the needs of the Cambodian people, under the slogan ‘Growing Together with Cambodians’.
"Within the framework of the MoU with VERYWORDS, Woori Bank is pleased to provide charging facilities to make E-mobility more convenient. Woori Bank and VERYWORDS will continue to collaborate on future services.
"This MoU aims to support ESG [environmental, social and governance] frameworks in response to the global warming crisis.
"We hope this collaboration will benefit the Kingdom's environment and society, as Woori Bank keeps growing sustainably with Cambodians," said Woori Bank Cambodia CEO Kim Hong Ju.
E-Mobility is essential in bringing clean energy to the world of transportation. With electricity powering vehicles, E-mobility is not only environmentally friendly, but also cost-effective.
"We are working to build an ecosystem of electric vehicles so all Cambodians can actively participate in responding to climate change.
"This collaboration with Woori Bank will result in improved charger infrastructure in Cambodia, beginning with Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
"And with VERYWORDS establishing a 'Carbon Neutral Culture' platform allowing Cambodian people to actively participate with us, it is indeed an important development that Woori Bank will be a part of this journey," said VERYWORDS CEO Kim Sung Woo.
