ISF Cambodia, a non-profit organisation that provides education and community services to underprivileged children and their families, has launched an exciting new fundraising campaign.
With the support of elite national football star Thierry Chantha Bin, the organisation aims to reach thousands of people in need with its “Coffee for a Cause” campaign.
“This month, we’re thrilled to run our ‘Coffee for a Cause’ campaign, in collaboration with Thierry Chantha Bin, to encourage people to make a positive difference. With their support, we will provide desperately needed assistance to some of the poorest children and families ISF supports,” said Chourp Vicheka, ISF chief executive.
The campaign asks people inside and outside Cambodia to donate the cost of just one cup of coffee to ISF each month. The proceeds will provide life-changing services for children and families who live amid crushing poverty in Cambodia.
Thierry Chantha Bin, who was born in Cambodia and raised in France, has always been passionate about giving back to his community.
He has been actively involved in various charitable organisations and has now joined forces with ISF Cambodia to help make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
One of ISF’s best known and popular community services is its football programme, for kids of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Enter Thierry Chantha Bin, a defensive midfielder and centre back for Cambodian Premier League club Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng in south eastern Cambodia. Thierry also has played for Cambodia’s national team at the senior international level.
“ISF is an amazing NGO helping thousands of children break free from poverty through education and football,” said Thierry.
“As a football player, this cause is very close to my heart so I’m asking all of you to join me and give up just one coffee a month to support ISF children,” he added.
Thierry – who began his football journey at France’s famous RC Strasbourg academy at age 14 and moved to Cambodia in 2012 for his professional career – suggested people donate just $5 per month or $60 for the whole year to ISF, as the price of a single coffee can change someone’s life forever.
Thierry knows that even small, monthly donations to ISF have a highly beneficial, outsized impact on children.
There are huge impacts for the beneficiaries; just $1 a month for a year provides books and pens for a student for a year and $3 a month for one year provides one student with a school uniform and educational material for one year.
Just $5 a month for one year provides school meals for a student for one year and $12 a month for a year helps feed a family of four for one year.
“These small but regular donations can make a huge difference in the lives of children living in extreme poverty in Cambodia, and its long-term support that allows us to continue our life-changing work. Join us and Thierry today in supporting our campaign,” said Vicheka.
“With a donation of $20, you can provide a student with breakfast and lunch for a month, while a donation of $2,600 can pay for a local teacher, providing quality education to disadvantaged children for a year,” she added.
Around half of Cambodian children live in multidimensional poverty, but ISF has been working since 2006 to provide these children with education, healthcare, and community services.
ISF’s approach involves using education and sport to empower them and help them break the cycle of poverty.
Their education programme aims to provide tools to children who have never been to school or have dropped out, while their football programme aims to increase access to sport, develop life skills, and improve the health of over 4,000 underprivileged young people from 13 of the Kingdom’s 24 provinces.
