Cambodia, Pakistan to strengthen peacekeeping ties

Cambodia and Pakistan have committed to bring bilateral relations closer through the strengthening of cooperation in the peacekeeping sector.

The commitment was made during a meeting between Minister of National Defence Tea Banh and newly appointed ambassador of Pakistan Zaheeruddin BabarThaheem on March 24.

Tea Banh believed that the ties and cooperation between the two countries will be longlasting.

“At the level of our respective defence ministries, Cambodia and Pakistan will strengthen our cooperation in the peacekeeping sector through an exchange of visits. We are preparing a memorandum of understanding between the defence ministries of the two countries,” he was quoted as saying by the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) in a Facebook post.

The RCAF said Thaheem has expressed hopes that the two countries' ministries will achieve their goal of strengthening cooperation in the sector.
