A Cambodian artistic delegation has landed in China, ready to take part in the 65th-anniversary celebration of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The grand event, hosted at Beijing's Legendale Hotel, saw around 300 distinguished guests in attendance, according to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts' announcement on July 21.
The ministry further highlighted the significance of the year, marking not only the 65th anniversary of Cambodia-China diplomatic ties but also heralding the year of Cambodia-China friendship.
The long-standing diplomatic relationship has nurtured a close and special friendship, with the leaders of both countries continually deepening their bond over the years.
The ministry expressed honour and pride for the Cambodian delegates selected to perform at the celebratory event.
Their repertoire will feature cultural gems like the Apsara dance and the Khmer traditional dances such as Sovann Maccha (Golden Mermaid), Moni Mekhala, and hand-held fan dance.
The cultural showcase is being organised in collaboration with the Cambodian embassy in Beijing and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), serving as a testament to the thriving cultural exchange between the two nations.
