The National People's Congress (NPC) of China have announced that they are ready to work to push cooperation and promote development with Cambodia to build a highly quality standardised community of common destiny.
The pledge was made by Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, in a letter to Cambodian Senate president Say Chhum to commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China.
Huning explained that since the commencement of the relationship, the two countries have worked together to achieve mutual trust, equality, and clear mutual interests.
“As China moves forward to prosperity through modernisation, China stands ready to share and promote cooperation and development with Cambodia. This will build a China-Cambodia community of common destiny. It will be a high-level community in the new era, supporting the mutual interests of both countries and actively contributing to peace and stability in the region,” the letter said.
In the letter, he reiterated the willingness of the Central Committee to work with Cambodia and mobilise support from all walks of life to strengthen China-Cambodia friendship.
