Prime Minister Hun Sen reminded all members of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) to focus on the role of serving the nation and the people, especially to maintain security and social order and implement the safe village-commune policy.
He made the remarks at a meeting with more than 3,000 CPP officials in Phnom Penh on November 26 at the CPP headquarters.
Hun Sen said he was pleased to meet with party members from the villages, communes and districts as well as the other party leaders.
He also congratulated all commune/sangkat councils in Phnom Penh on receiving the support of the people in the recent commune elections.
The prime minister, who is also president of the CPP, commended all civil servants and members of the armed forces for striving to maintain political stability, security, social order and for preventing the spread of Covid-19.
“All party members who have jobs with the government must continue to pay attention to fulfilling their duties to serve the nation and the people, especially to maintaining security and social order and implementing the safe village-commune policy, including cracking down on pick-pocketing, robberies and drug trafficking to ensure the safety of the people,” he said.
He added that they also have to provide public services, including all necessary services and requests, quickly and efficiently.
“Authorities must take care to resolve land disputes for the people quickly and effectively and provide the people with the necessary services quickly to avoid causing problems. Together, we must continue to prevent Covid-19 and other contagious diseases. We must pay close attention to solving the problems that occur in markets, traffic problems, water and electricity problems,” he continued
Hun Sen also urged them to resolve disputes between workers with factories or employees of companies with companies. He encouraged the authorities to try to resolve people's disputes through the judiciary.
Khuong Sreng, the head of the CPP in Phnom Penh, also said that the Phnom Penh municipal authorities had paid close attention to protecting and strengthening security and public order on a regular basis. Speaking overall, he said the authorities had ensured better security and safety for the people and that all levels of the administration in Phnom Penh have been cooperating to improve the situation.
