Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wrote a letter to Prime Minister Hun Sen to express gratitude for Cambodia’s donation of medical supplies to assist his government in the fight against Covid-19.

Chinh said the assistance was a timely response to Covid-19 outbreaks in Ho Chi Minh City. “[On] behalf of the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, I genuinely thank Samdech Techo [Hun Sen], the government and people of Cambodia. The gift is precious and essential for the authorities in Ho Chi Minh City.”

He said the donation is evidence of close friendship, solidarity and noble tradition of mutual support between the two nations, especially difficult times.

Cambodia last week shipped one million face masks, 100,000 N95 masks and 100 oxygen concentrators to Vietnam. The government also donated $200,000, while the Cambodian Red Cross contributed and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association contributed $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
