Cambodia is approaching 50 per cent of Covid-19 vaccinations for its targeted 10 million people aged 18 and over as another four million doses of vaccines are expected to arrive on July 10.
As of July 8, the Kingdom had vaccinated more than 4.7 million people, or 47.5 per cent of the target, according to the Ministry of Health.
The vaccination campaign ended in Phnom Penh on July 8 and it is now heading to 14 of the country’s 24 provinces.
Of the four million doses procured from China and scheduled to touch down in the capital on July 10, three million are from Sinovac and one million from Sinopharm.
To date, Cambodia has received 12 million doses through purchase and donations from China and via the World Health Organisation-led Covax initiative.
Prime Minister Hun Sen said early this month that Cambodia will have acquired a total of 20 million doses by August. After the targeted 10 million have been vaccinated, Cambodia will consider vaccinating people under 18.
