The government of Japan signed contracts for grant aid with local organizations totalling
$426,539 on June 5. The funds will go to support nine projects in health and education
as part of the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Project (KUSANONE).
The KUSANONE grant scheme, started in 1991, has provided $5,632,818 to 112 local
projects to date.
