Army chief of staff, Khem Chea Sakhoeun, has called upon the members of Intervention Brigade I to heed their training, learn, and respect discipline.

His message underlined the importance of such qualities in enhancing their ability to serve and protect the nation, and in contributing to Cambodia’s social stability and development.

Sakhoeun’s clarion call came during a pivotal ceremony, marking the end of the 2022 training and the beginning of the 2023 training for Intervention Brigade I.

The event took place in Kampong Chhnang province and was broadcasted via a Facebook post from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.

During the ceremony, the army chief noted that the brigade had conducted 13 human resource training courses in 2022, involving 1,455 trainees and 105 military trainers.

He also acknowledged the ongoing commitment to training, with 11 new courses launched this year, already attended by 881 trainees and 88 military trainers.

Sakhoeun emphasised the need for attention towards human resource capacities, particularly in the defence sector, to keep pace with the regional developments.

“Today’s training was an appropriate and timely response to the government’s policy of building human resources with high capacity and quality to perform our duties, serve our nation now and in the future,” he asserted.

In appreciation, the army deputy chief extolled the commendable efforts of the commander, deputy commander, officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, military trainers, and trainees.

He further encouraged the: “Please put forth your best efforts, excel in your work, and study diligently to prepare for future leadership roles”.
