The government has announced that it will provide land titles to around 1,200 families living in the eight buildings of the Borei Keila area in Veal Vong commune of the capital’s Prampi Makara district. It will exempt them from paying ownership transferring taxes, property taxes and other fees, said the Ministry of Information.

Municipal governor Khuong Sreng met with Borei Keila residents on February 3.

He told them that Prime Minister Hun Sen had instructed the Phnom Penh municipal authorities to distribute ownership certificates for the 1,392 units of all eight Borei Keila buildings, the ministry said.

Sreng said the residents would not only receive the ownership titles, but also enjoy a freeze on property taxes and certain other service fees.
