Cambodian Minister of National Defence Tea Seiha and Zhang Youxia, vice-chairman of China's Central Military Commission, have commended the “satisfactory” defence cooperation between the two nations. Both sides have also pledged to strengthen their cooperation.
Seiha and Zhang met in Beijing during the opening of the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, held in Beijing from 12-14 September.
“Seiha thanked China for its aid and support for the development of Cambodia’s military capacity and its modernisation, as well as for the provision of scholarships to members of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) to study and train in China,” said a September 15 statement from the defence ministry.
“Seiha and Zhang expressed their satisfaction at the military cooperation between the two countries, in the spirit of their iron-clad friendship,” it added.
It continued that Zhang vowed to continue working with Cambodia strengthen their friendship, improve strategic relations and deepen actual cooperation to lift the relations between the two militaries.
Seiha shared Cambodia’s determination to solidify and expand the cooperation between the RCAF and The People's Liberation Army (PLA), in order to continue the achievements nurtured by the leaders of both countries.
