In collaboration with Kofi Co Ltd, officials of the Mondulkiri Coffee Project organised a training programme on climate-resilient cultivation techniques on June 29.
The project is overseen by the Office of Agronomy and Agricultural Productivity under the Mondulkiri provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
This initiative by the department aimed at educating local inhabitants about the selection of coffee seed varieties, the creation of suitable nursery locations, and efficient soil and irrigation management. Additionally, they discussed techniques for fertiliser application and pest and disease control.
On the same day, they also joined forces with the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) Cambodia to provide similar training in the use of coffee cultivation techniques in various locales such as Pou Raing village in Pech Chreada district's Bou Sra commune and at Poles village in O’Raing district's Dak Dam commune.
The day prior, the agriculture department had distributed rice seed varieties to 100 households in Nang Khylek commune of Koh Nhek district.
