Construction workers find 30 UXO in Battambang

A construction site manager found 30 unexploded ordnance (UXO) while digging in the ground to construct the foundation for a house in Romduol village in Battambang town’s Chamkar Samrong commune in Battambang province on February 22.

The National Police said in a February 23 report that the construction manager had reported the discovery of the UXOs to Battambang provincial police.

“After receiving the information, police went to check and found 30 bullets of 37mm calibre along with three kilograms of gundpowder. They sealed off the location and called the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) to take them and destroy them,” police said.

They also called on people to report to police and authorities if they find UXO or weapons and never play with them to avoid dangers.
