The novel coronavirus has now spread to Preah Sihanouk provincial prison with 34 detainees testing positive on May 8.

According to an announcement by the provincial administration on May 9, some of the Covid-19 positive inmates are Chinese nationals.

They were among the total 126 new cases – including factory workers, vendors and family members – reported in the coastal province on May 8.

The administration called on those who have had contact with the new Covid-19 patients to report to the local authorities and have their specimens collected for testing and to self-quarantine.
