The Siem Reap Provincial Administration has extended the closure of Damdek market in Sotr Nikum district for another two weeks to stem the spread of Covid-19 and at the same time reopened a market in Banteay Srei district after the situation there eased.

According to its decision dated October 4, the Damdek market, located in Dam Dek commune, will remain closed until October 17.

"The extension is to ensure the effective control of Covid-19 in the area and to prevent it spreading to other communes,” it said.

In the same notice, the provincial administration permitted Banteay Srei market in Khnar Sandai commune to reopen after it had been cleared of Covid-19.
