The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has announced preparations for the establishment of the Digital Professionals Association (DPA), as part of plans to nurture for Cambodia’s digital future.
The association will be divided into communities based on specific areas of expertise, such as telecommunications, software development, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, the Internet of Things, data science and robotics.
The ministry already launched the Digital Community of Cambodia (DCC) as a platform to gather digital human resources in Cambodia.
“This initiative brings together software developers, digital entrepreneurs, individuals with relevant digital technology qualifications and students through voluntary participation. Currently, the DCC has approximately 5,000 registered members,” said the ministry.
One of the central goals of the new association is to create opportunities for experts and professionals to communicate and collaborate.

The association will facilitate knowledge exchange by organising workshops, conferences and discussions on the latest trends in digital technologies.
“This will ensure that participants remain at the forefront of innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, blockchain, cybersecurity, data science and more,” explained the ministry.
In addition, it will allow professionals to gain insights into the government’s ongoing digital technology development activities, further bridging the gap between public sector objectives and private sector innovation.
The association is also positioned as a major support mechanism for students and new graduates who are keen on entering the digital workforce.
It will offer various programmes, including internships, job placements and even scholarship opportunities for those pursuing higher education in digital fields.
Students will be able to access valuable resources to help them grow their knowledge, build professional connections and kick-start their careers in Cambodia’s growing digital economy.
By providing a bridge between academia and industry, the association will also play a crucial role in identifying and nurturing the next generation of digital talent to help build a robust digital government and improve the quality of public services for Cambodian citizens.
For professionals already working in the digital sector, the DPA offers an opportunity to share knowledge, gain recognition and expand their professional networks.
“Whether they are entry-level employees, seasoned experts or senior leaders, members will have access to a range of opportunities to enhance their careers, including high-quality job opportunities at both public and private organisations,” according to the DCC.
The private sector, in turn, will benefit from the association by having access to a skilled and diverse talent pool that meets the specific demands of their businesses.
Launched with the support of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and the telecommunications ministry, the specialised communities of the DPPPA will allow professionals to find the right environment to connect with like-minded individuals, share best practices and stay updated on the latest industry trends.
The telecommunications ministry encourages civil servants, students and professionals from all walks of life to join the new initiative and contribute to the development of Cambodia’s digital sector.
