The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a decision to extradite a US male found guilty in the US of having illicit sexual conduct with young girls.
Ronald Gerard Boyajian was sentenced in 2016 to 70 years in prison. He was arrested near Trasak Pha’em Street in Chamkarmon district in February 2009.
One victim, who was approximately eight when Boyajian assaulted her, testified at trial that “he was abusive, he was cruel, he treated me like I wasn’t even human.”
The suspect’s defence lawyer, Kong Sam Onn, said the verdict was unlawful as not all relevant parties were invited to court and the hearing was conducted without his knowledge. He said he intends to file a complaint and appeal the decision.
