Entertainment workers from 30 companies in Battamang province attended a workshop held to empower them in preventing the spread of HIV as well as against the use of drugs in their workplaces.
The National Police said the workshop was organised by the Committee to Combat HIV/AIDS and drugs under the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, in collaboration with the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) and ILO.
Lim Tonghout, director of the NACD’s legislation, education, and rehabilitation department, said that in the first half of this year, there were 4,661 drug addicts recorded, with the 18-45 age group accounting for most of them.
Tonghout thanked the authorities for organising the workshop and urged them to carry on their good work.
Huy Heansong, secretary of state at the labour ministry, urged participants to pay closer attention to protecting their health, as good health will bring more success for themselves and for society as a whole.
