At the invitation of his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister Hun Sen will lead a delegation to the 4th Mekong River Commission (MRC) Summit -- themed “Innovation and Cooperation for a Water Secure and Sustainable Mekong" -- on April 5 in the Lao capitall Vientiane.

Minister of Environment Say Samal and Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology Lim Kean Hor, among other senior officials, will accompany the premier.

The summit participants will review the progress and achievements towards joint efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the Mekong River Basin set during the 3rd summit held in Cambodia in 2018.

They will discuss the ongoing challenges in the Mekong Basin and set future strategic directions to jointly address those challenges, while continuing to promote regional cooperation and partnerships for Mekong River sustainability.
