The National Employment Agency (NEA), in collaboration with relevant institutions, is set to host a two-day National Job and Productivity Fair on November 10-11 at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh. This event will present an array of over 20,000 job opportunities.
Kata Orn, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, announced during a recent press conference that the event will witness the participation of 150 companies, manufacturing enterprises, public institutions and training establishments, boasting more than 150 booths.
“The National Job and Productivity Fair will provide over 20,000 job opportunities, and we anticipate over 30,000 visitors,” he said.
The NEA has orchestrated this fair in partnership with the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), the Textile, Apparel, Footwear and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the People in Need Cambodia, along with support from several other collaborators.
He highlighted that the fair’s primary objective is to maintain equilibrium within the job market, ensuring that employers have a sufficient pool of prospective employees.
“The fair also aims to create a large gathering where job-seekers, employers, training providers, and relevant partners can effortlessly exchange and share job market information to enhance workplace productivity. Speakers will also share their insights and experiences,” he said.
Sorn Bun Mean, director of the UYFC Phnom Penh (UYFC-PP) secretariat, pointed out that the UYFC-PP has been partnering with the NEA – which operates under the labour ministry – since the inception of the job fair and is actively promoting participation across the country.
“This job fair offers a valuable opportunity for young people to seek employment and gain insights into the skill requirements of the job market. I encourage all young individuals to prepare their CVs and participate in on-the-spot job applications and interviews during this two-day event,” he underscored.
During the conference, TAFTAC secretary-general Kaing Monika stressed the relevance of this fair to workplace productivity, as companies and factories that hire employees consistently prioritise their productivity. The fair will include a workshop on “Job opportunities and workplace productivity challenges”.
This fair will also have an online component, allowing job-seekers from around the country to apply through careerfair.nea.gov.kh
