Over its nearly 21 years in operation, the maternity ward at Kantha Bopha in Siem Reap, also known as Jayavarman VII Children's Hospital, has conducted 2.2 million medical check-ups for pregnant women on an outpatient basis.

The maternity ward was first put into use on October 9, 2001 after a ceremonial opening presided over by the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk along with Prime Minister Hun Sen and first lady Bun Rany.

The hospital said on October 7 that as the ward approaches its 21st anniversary, it has had a total of 2,218,007 pregnant women outpatients and 360,456 pregnant women who delivered their babies there including 37,366 cesarean section operations.

The hospital thanked all of the supporting foundations and the public for their donations to support the operations of the hospital because it made all of their work over 21 years possible.
