During the opening ceremony of a training course for aspiring military officers, civil servants, and environmental rangers, Minister of Environment Say Samal emphasised the importance of fostering and nurturing national spirit in order to defend both the nation and Cambodia's natural environment.

The training took place at the School of Active Military Thmart Porng in Po village, Damnak commune, Samakki Monichey district, Kampong Speu province on July 7.

The Minister of Environment joined Ith Sarath, deputy commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), to attend the ceremony, according to the Ministry of Environment.

Samal applauded the students who had successfully passed the examination to participate in the 25th batch of training for active officers and the third batch of training for public civil servants serving as environmental rangers.

"We have come to this school together to nurture the national spirit and build human resources necessary to propel Cambodia's journey forward," he stated.

He further emphasised the vital role of the RCAF in safeguarding the nation's interests and maintaining social stability.

He noted that the RCAF must always be ready for the benefit of the Cambodian people to counteract any forms of social unrest, such as a colour revolution or the rise of extremist groups.

According to the ministry, 100 active officers, of whom 17 are women, passed the exam and are now part of the 25th batch of training where they will study military science, basic science, and general knowledge for four years.

In addition, 69 officials from the Ministry of Environment have enrolled in a special 56-day training course focusing on education and military science.
