Minister of Education, Youth and Sport Hang Chuon Naron on Thursday encouraged recent graduates to continue their studies and become “skilful intellectuals”.

The minister’s remarks were made during the Limkokwing University graduation ceremony in Phnom Penh’s Tonle Bassac commune.

“Cambodia is in need of human resources and talented people to develop it into a strong nation. I express my gratitude to the parents who have always supported their sons and daughters. On this day they receive their degrees as proof of mastery of a skill set. Without the support of parents and guardians, Cambodia would not see these students graduate today."

“I would like to express my gratitude to the president of Limkokwing University and its lecturers who have taught and trained these students,” he said

He said the graduates will become intellectuals who can serve the world and will transform it into a better place.

“Now is the time of great technological modernisation. This evolution will eliminate [the need for] old skills, while new skills will emerge."

“We must value continuous studying because lifelong learning can, in turn, give value to our lives. Even after finishing school, we must keep learning, so we can become experts in the future,” he said.

Limkokwing University vice-president Raja Aznil Raja Hisham spoke during the graduation ceremony and gave masters, bachelors and associate degrees to 111 graduates.

“Today begins a new journey where the skills and learning that are acquired will open the door to exciting pathways. The world is brimming with opportunities. Face new challenges with optimism and use your talents to find the solution in every part of society and industry. Seek to make all of our lives better,” said Raja Aznil.
