The death of a Covid-19 positive man at Chak Angre Health Centre in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district on March 28 was caused by cardiopulmonary arrest and not from the disease, the Ministry of Health confirmed late on March 29, hours after issuing a press release with a daily update of infections and fatalities.
The man, a 39-year-old resident of Tonle Bassac commune in the capital’s Chamkarmon district, was admitted to the health centre after testing positive for Covid-19 on March 21.
He had not shown any major Covid-19 related symptoms until March 28, when he suffered from sudden chest pain and lost consciousness at 8:30pm, the ministry said.
The man passed away about an hour later despite doctors’ attempts to save his life.
