Minister of Post and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth recently delivered 150 computers along with corresponding sets of desks and chairs, establishing an ICT lab at the National Defence University (NDU).

This lab is earmarked for the instruction of students in the field of military information technology (IT).

The handover ceremony took place at the ministry, with Vandeth and NDU rector Chea Dara presiding over the event. Vandeth said these resources are specifically designated to fulfil the university’s mission of educating students in military IT.

“The 150 high-capacity computers are intended to address the complex technological learning requirements for each subject,” he said.

Vandeth also commended the university for its active role in bolstering the armed forces, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, skills and professionalism to serve the nation.

Dara expressed his gratitude to the ministry for their support in advancing human resources across Cambodia, particularly in the realm of military IT and the establishment of a digital government, in alignment with initial phase of the government’s Pentagonal Strategy aimed at fostering digital governance.

NDU operates under the Ministry of National Defence, offering degree programmes including military science research, social science and language studies, science and education, and vocational training.
