The National Employment Agency (NEA), in conjunction with the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), hosted a job forum on August 24.
This event presented a significant opportunity for Cambodian youth, offering participants access to a plethora of job openings.
Chhorm Sokhoeurn, manager of the Phnom Penh Job Center at NEA, announced that a total of 799 job opportunities from major companies were available to youth, students and job-seekers during the forum, along with study programme prospects.
"This forum provides a platform for the general public and especially youth seeking employment. It simplifies the job search process, eliminating the need for extensive application submissions. Even those presently employed but interested in changing careers can participate," he explained.
Sokhoeurn saw a surge in applicants due to the involvement of 10 major companies, all offering numerous positions.
Participating businesses included WOORI Bank, Cathay United Bank, Land & Home, Forte Life Insurance, MR Training, GEOLINK, AEON Specialised Bank, JACCS Microfinance Cambodia and Kofi.
He also highlighted the NEA's role in aiding companies that require new recruits. Students, university attendees and others looking for work can submit applications and conduct interviews with company representatives at the NEA, located at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.
Nov Sethy, assistant manager of HR recruitment at Cathay United Bank, emphasised the forum's important role in company staffing.
"Our collaboration with the NEC on job vacancy advertising has yielded a considerable number of bank employees," Sethy said.
