Phnom Penh municipal governor Khuong Sreng has ordered that the O’Russey market in the capital’s Prampi Makara district close for two weeks after several vendors and security guards there tested positive for Covid-19 in cases linked to the February 20 community outbreak.
In a letter signed on April 3, Sreng said the move is to prevent further spread of the novel coronavirus.
“Given the current situation, the municipal hall will close the O’Russey Trade Centre for 14 days effective through April 17," he said, using the official name of the market.
Sreng noted that all vendors’ products and belongings will be guarded with no security fee charged.
