The Preah Vihear Provincial Administration has announced a campaign to measure and distribute 335ha of land in Pheareaketch village in Preah Vihear town's Pahal commune.

This initiative, greenlit by the government, is set to change the landscape of land ownership in the region.

On July 20, a launch ceremony for the campaign was held, presided over by provincial governor Kim Rithy. As part of the plan, the total land of 335ha will be divided into individual plots for residents, with an 85ha portion reserved for the state.

Rithy said at the event that the administration had received multiple calls from village residents seeking help with land measurement and title issuance in the area.

Responding to their requests, and with approval from the head of government, the administration assigned a dedicated working group to oversee the land measurement.

The governor also extended his congratulations to the villagers, saying it is a positive step for them to have received the government's attention and assistance in securing land titles.

In addition, he offered advice to the residents, encouraging them to clearly mark their boundaries in order to aid the working group in their task. He also urged understanding and tolerance towards neighbours with adjacent boundaries. His comments underscore cooperation that will be crucial in this communal undertaking.
