Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng, who is also head of the inter-ministerial committee tasked with combating Covid-19, has reminded private hospitals and clinics that have received a permit to use the Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Test devices to display a price list for their service in public and to obtain prior consent from customers.
In a letter dated May 1, Bun Heng advised them to purchase the Abbot and Roche testing devices from registered companies for use at their establishments.
"Offer suitable prices and ensure that customers know how much they would be charged for the service. Private establishments and customers shall sign an agreement prior to Covid-19 testing," read the letter.
Bun Heng said the ministry's decision to let private hospital and clinics administer the test using the devices was meant to minimise transmission from Covid-19 positive persons to other patients there and to ease the burdens for public establishments.
