Phnom Penh municipal police have notified Cambodians and foreign nationals who hold Cambodian citizenship about the process of renewing or applying for family and residence books, and identification cards.
Citizens whose ID cards have expired and those who have reached the age of 15 can renew or apply for it at any district police station in their locality, at a dedicated centre on the second floor of the Aeon Mall in Sen Sok district, or at the municipal police headquarters.
They need to bring along a copy of birth certificate or certificate of live birth, resident book or family book. Foreigners who have been naturalised have to bring along a royal decree certifying as such.
Those who renew or apply for a residence book need to bring a copy of birth certificate or certificate of live birth, Cambodian National ID card, marriage certificate if they are married, and a letter certifying their relocation from their former commune police if they have relocated recently.
Those who renew or apply for a family book need to bring along a residence book, copy of birth certificate or certificate of birth, Cambodian National ID card and marriage certificate.
