The Singapore Embassy launched the Cambodia-Singapore Cooperation Centre (CSCC) microsite, to assist people who are interested in pursuing their learning and personal growth through the support of the Singaporean government.

The launch was attended by Kan Pharidh, secretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“The microsite is the first of its kind among the cooperation centres funded by Singapore in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. It will provide a repository of updated information for those interested in continuous learning and professional growth,” said Singaporean ambassador Teo Lay Cheng, at the March 21 launch ceremony.

“The dedicated site will also serve as a one-stop centre for others who wish to know more about the technical cooperation programmes offered by the Singapore government and how they can apply directly. It will complement first-hand testimonials from course participants featured on the Embassy’s social media,” she added.

According to the embassy, Singapore has trained more than 11,700 Cambodian government officials under the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI).

“Singapore is a steadfast partner in Cambodia’s journey to nurture talent, upskill officials and foster leadership. We remain committed to supporting the Cambodian government’s priorities in capacity building, as outlined in the Pentagonal Strategy,” said Lay Cheng.

The embassy said the CSCC is an evolution of the Cambodia-Singapore Training Centre, which was established in 2002 following the launch of the IAI.

In 2018, the training centre was upgraded to the CSCC to further enhance the delivery of capacity building programmes for Cambodian officials, it added.
