Testing programme for construction materials set to launch mid-2023

Testing programme for construction materials set to launch mid-2023

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has issued a notice to the public regarding the commencement of a programme to test the quality of construction materials in order to ensure the safety of the public and improve the overall quality of buildings in the Kingdom.

The notice reads that to strengthen the implementation of the construction law and enhance the quality, safety, protection of property and well-being of construction owners, construction users and the public, the ministry will launch the first step of the programme for testing construction materials including concrete strength testing, steel strength testing, proctor tests, liquid limits tests and sieve analysis tests.

The ministry confirmed that it planned to launch this series of tests on structural design construction, construction equipment and construction products by mid-2023.

Members of the public who wish to have their materials tested can contact the National Construction Laboratory via its director Nhor Heng, which is located in the Sen Sok district of the capital.
