BANGKOK (AP) - Thailand is on schedule to launch its first satellite by early
December in a bid to become a Regional Telecommunications Center, officials said
on July 22.
The Thaicom-1 satellite is in its last stages of construction and is expected to
be launched by December, to honor king Bhumibol Adulyadej's 66th birthday on December
5.
