A young boy and a girl were tragically killed in a fire that broke out at around 4.00pm this afternoon, February 28.
The incident occurred on National Road 5 in Phsar Touch village, in Phnom Penh’s Toul Sangke 1 commune, according to the Phnom Penh Fire Prevention and Rescue Office.
Police discovered that the fire was caused by an unattended gas cooker. The affected area was a makeshift shelter where homeless people were living.

Firefighters deployed four trucks to fight the blaze, which was brought under control by 4.20pm.
Three fire appliances from the Phnom Penh Fire Department used six cubic metres of water, while an additional truck from Russey Keo district was not required to use any water.
