The HMS Spey (P234), a Batch II River-class offshore patrol vessel (OPV) of the UK’s Royal Navy, on February 17 set sail from Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) after a five-day visit to Cambodia, according to the Ministry of Information.
The February 13-17 visit aimed to strengthen security cooperation and the friendship between the two kingdoms.
Ream Naval Base deputy chief of staff Admiral In Sokhemra saw the HMS Spey off at PAS.
The two navies conducted joint exercises to extinguish fires and control flooding aboard ships. A number of friendly sporting competitions were also arranged at Samdech Ov High School in Commune III, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province.
The HMS Spey’s commanding officer (CO) is Commander Michael Proudman. The vessel has a length of 90.4m and a beam of 13.4m.
