Two hectares of forest in Bavet city, Svay Rieng, fell into a burning ring of fire on Wednesday.
The blaze, which was reported by a local resident, was so large, it reportedly took five fire trucks to put out.
While police made no arrests, officers hinted that the inferno may have been started by traders hunting for beehives and snakes in the forest who are known to set small fires to smoke out their prey. No one was harmed.
