A capital man fluent in more than one tongue didn’t seem to speak the language of the road as he crashed his car into a Meachey district lamppost.

Police say the Chinese translator was driving drunk on Wednesday night when he tried to pass another driver, but instead veered off the road into a streetlight.

Authorities dispensed with the excess dialogue and promptly hauled him and his busted set of wheels to the station.
