A fake firearm landed one capital resident in police custody on Friday evening, though not for obvious reasons.

The man was sitting conspicuously at a grocery store and – unsurprisingly – his sham shooter attracted the attention of patrolling police.

After confirming the gun was in fact a fake, a police search turned up several bags of very real crystal meth.

While the man’s motivations are as yet unknown, police are questioning him in custody.
