Phnom Penh, Cambodia — Wednesday January 16th, 2019 Topaz restaurant offers its refined setting to welcome the equally refined cuisine of French Michelin Star Chef Christian Têtedoie*.
Starting at 6:00pm, the dinner will feature a specially designed menu for the lovers of French fine dining in Phnom Penh. To name but a few, the lucky gourmets will be able to enjoy “a vibrant beetroot bouquet”, “a rabbit saddle infused with nature’s flavours”, or “a tangy coconut baba cake” – enticing and mouth-watering dish titles that convey the creative cuisine of the Chef.
Christian Têtedoie*’s inspiration comes from his parents who, as market gardeners, passed on their love for good and fresh products to him. This background undoubtedly generated the Chef’s interest in cooking from early on.
He later developed his culinary skills with the famous Chefs Paul Bocuse***, Georges Blanc*** and even with Marcel Le Servot in the kitchens of the Élysée Palace where he was cooking the presidential meals.
Chef Têtedoie* describes his cuisine as inspired by ingredients above all. “I never cease to pay homage to the produce, to highlight it, to prepare it as carefully as possible in order to draw the best from each ingredient”, he said.
His cuisine is also about generosity and sincerity. Through his very personal recipes and the incredible settings of his restaurants in Lyon, the Chef’s goal is definitely to share the most amazing culinary experiences possible with his guests.
As the President of Les Maîtres Cuisiniers de France (“Master Chefs of France”), one of the largest associations of chefs, Christian Têtedoie*’s goal is to spread the art of French gastronomy internationally. During one week, he will be sharing invaluable culinary skills and knowledge with the staff of Topaz Restaurant to inspire the next generation of Master Chefs in Cambodia.
