103 gold medal winning athletes offered jobs with National Police

The General Secretariat Sports Council at the Ministry of Interior held a meeting to review a list of athletes who had won gold medals to find jobs for them with the national police..

The ministry said in 2022 that athletes who represented the interior ministry had won 211 medals, more than all other institutions across the country, but only those who win gold medals qualify for the job offer.

Sar Sith, the ministry undersecretary of state who led the meeting, said that the verification of the list has been completed and it will be sent to Sar Kheng for review and approval.

Sith said that at the 3rd National Sports Event held in November 2022, the ministry won 103 gold, 58 silver and 50 bronze medals.

He told the atheletes who will be given national police jobs to do their best to serve the nation. Quoting interior minister Sar Kheng, he said the medals are granted to them for their whole lives and are of great value to them.

He also urged them to continue training in their respective sports in order to win more medals at local and international sporting events, especially at the 32nd SEA Games that Cambodia will host in May.
